Frequently Asked Questions

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured with public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Where do the photo sessions take place?

All studio sessions are completed at my newly aquired studio, based on Hayling Island, near Portsmouth, Hampshire.

The location of my outside sessions will vary depending on the photoshoot.

Can I have my photo session in my own home?

I do not generally travel to clients' home for photoshoots. If there is a specific need for this then please do get in touch so we can discuss in more detail.

Do you have a minimum spend?

I do not have a minimum spend.

How can I book a session?

There are a number of ways to book a session. You can message me via my 'contact' page, email me on little.pixels@hotmail.com or find me on Facebook.

What should I dress my child/family in?

Shoes and socks are removed for all my photo sessions, as bare feet tend to look more relaxed in photographs.

It is very important that you/your family feel comfortable in your selected outfits. Try to avoid any logos or text on the clothes, or anything with too fine a pattern/stripes. Instead, aim for blocks of colour that don't take the focus away from your childs/childrens faces. Everyone does not need to be in the same colour, but choose colours and outfits that compliment each other.

If you have booked a newborn session then bear in mind that we like to remove their clothes to capture all those perfect little details, and we have to keep the studio very warm. This is perfect for your little newborn but you may wish to dress with layers that can be removed.

Will we have access to any props?

Virtually all the props you may have seen in my work are available for use, but please do let me know if there is something in particular you would like to incorporate to avoid disappointment. Also, you are welcome to bring along some items that are special to you/your child/your family. Please let me know if you want to bring extra items in advance so I have time to think how they could be used effectively.

How long will the session take?

A family session will take approximately 1 hour, but I try to build in a bit of extra time as we all know that little ones can be unpredictable. I like to try and keep the studio and fun and pressure free setting, to help create happy and natural memories and photographs.

Allow upto 3-4 hours for a newborn session. This helps to create a chilled and peaceful time where we can follow the lead of your newborn bundle, allowing time for feeding/nappy changing/settling etc.

What can I do to prepare, before the session?

Please try to arrange to bring your toddlers after their naptime and after they have had something to eat. We want them to be as happy and co-operative as possible, and we all know that tiredness and hunger do not mix too well with little ones.

With a newborn session, it would be ideal to keep them awake for a while before the session starts (if this is possible!). It would also be ideal if they have just had a good feed when the session starts, and extra milk brought to keep them topped up and hydrated.

Do I need to bring anything else with me?

It is a good idea to bring a drink and snack for any children. For babies and newborns please bring extra milk or be prepared to nurse them more than usual. Our aim is to keep them completely satisfied, with a full tummy and hydrated in the warm studio environment. Newborn photo sessions can take upto 3-4 hours so it is worth bringing anything else that will keep you comfortable too.

What happens afterwards?

During a session I normally take more than 100 images, which are refined down to approximately 25 final images. These photographs are then professionally edited for your viewing.

You will be invited back to my studio for a viewing and ordering session within 4 weeks. Here you will be shown the final edited photographs as proof prints so you can make your order. It is a good idea to bring all decision makers with you to the ordering session, and if possible make arrangements that your toddlers are occupied elsewhere.

After you have completed your order I can activate an online ordering gallery, which you can share with friends and family so that they can make additional orders if they wish.
